Flooring & Paint

Ahhhhh. The first steps towards making this thing feel like a home. It is crazy how much just putting flooring in and painting everything white is totally transforming the RV. We used Vinyl Flooring from Lowes and rented a 100 lb roller from Home Depot to help them adhere properly. We were originally using metal edging for the stairs that we spray painted black, but later changed them out for black vinyl edging which will be so much more durable.

Painting this beast was no easy feat. We started by taking all of the cabinet doors off, sanding, priming and then painting them. For the RV itself, we cleaned everything with a TSP cleaner and then used a liquid sander on all of the cabinets. We used 2 gallons of Killz primer and 3 gallons of Glidden Essentials paint in Eggshell. For the most part, the walls only needed 2 coats of paint after 1 coat of primer and they were good. Other areas, like the cabinets and the door jams, needed upwards or 4 or 5 coats to finally look good. It was an exhausting process but its was so worth it to have this whole thing finally looking bright, clean and white.
